The Tilghman Swaim House is a Cultural
Heritage Landmark. Built by Greene and Greene master
builder Peter Hall, and designed in the Chicago Prairie
style by Parker O. Wright in 1911. More particularly,
it was built in the rare sub style known as "Classic
Box".
Most of this home has its original detailing inside
and out, and it appears that most of the exposed wood
has never been painted over. Details throughout, hardwood
floors, double stairway, original double hung windows,
clapboard siding, all on one of Pasadena's most historic
tree lined streets. Greene and Greene builders were
known for their level of detail and quality, you can
see it throughout, and most of the home was built with
redwood, per the seller who's been there for almost
30 years.
There's a separate legal duplex in the rear that totals
1,200 square feet, built in 1954, and are both currently
rented to long-term tenants. This is not a foreclosure
or a short sale, and will be sold City of Pasadena Compliance,
and with termite clearance. Who doesn't love extra
income? Perhaps you can make this into a large family
compound. Please don't disturb occupants of the duplex,
as viewing will only be upon contract acceptance.
The entire property is being offered with a home warranty.
